Good Omens adds Nick Offerman as the US Ambassador

Just when you think the excellent casting news for Amazon Prime Video’s Good Omens adaptation is over, another piece pops up out of nowhere to make your day.

This week’s addition is the one and only Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation), who is set to play the US Ambassador and father of the child Warlock.

In a statement, Good Omens creator and co-author Neil Gaiman said: “There may not be anyone alive who can deadpan a line quite as well as Nick Offerman. He’s a terrific performer and has to say a lot of things in Good Omens that are humanly impossible to deliver with a straight face. Fortunately, Nick is not entirely human.”

David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon) lead the terrific cast as demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale respectively.

Other cast members include but aren’t limited to Anna Maxwell Martin as leader of the forces of Hell Beelzebub, Jon Hamm as Archangel Gabriel, Josie Lawrence as 17th century witch Agnes Nutter, Adria Arjona as Anathema Device, Michael McKean as Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell, Miranda Richardson as medium-cum-courtesan Madame Tracy, Reece Shearsmith as William Shakespeare, Steve Pemberton and Mark Gatiss as book-sellers Harmony and Glozier and Derek Jacobi as Metatron.

Good Omens will air in 2019 on BBC Two in the UK and on Amazon in other territories. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
